When the movie Heaven’s Gate was first released it was slated in so many different ways; one of the most memorable was that it’s lead actress, Isabelle Huppert, had a face like a potato.
Anyway, the film’s gone on to be revered today as perhaps the greatest Western ever made and to celebrate the release of a fully restored cut on DVD, let’s enjoy the reality that was ‘potato-face’.
Some images just have the power to stop you in your tracks.
This naturalistic powerhouse, by Daniel Bauer, for me, does just that.
