Self-portraits by Alix Cleo Roubaud (1952-1983), who was a photographer and writer of Canadian origin. She photographed herself, her lovers and her daily life. She wrote in her diary that photography is an “expression of the self” and an “exploration of the world”.

When the movie Heaven’s Gate was first released it was slated in so many different ways; one of the most memorable was that it’s lead actress, Isabelle Huppert, had a face like a potato.
Anyway, the film’s gone on to be revered today as perhaps the greatest Western ever made and to celebrate the release of a fully restored cut on DVD, let’s enjoy the reality that was ‘potato-face’.
