__________
In October 2014 we published the first issue of Quite Frankly, a luxury erotic magazine – designed by women, for women – and, so far, have been pleased indeed to see it find an audience in twenty seven countries around the globe. The magazine has received worldwide acclaim and is approached almost every day from artists demonstrating a desire to contribute.
Alongside, we have launched the first three volumes of an ongoing series of monographs of photography; two as standalone publications and one published to accompany the launch issue of the magazine.
In addition, as an experiment, we have also produced a pack of fine art postcards showcasing the photography of our Editor, Katherine Jane Wood; and this has led to us being commissioned to produce a bespoke portfolio of greetings cards for one of the UK’s leading luxury lingerie brands.
…and, as if that’s not enough to occupy us, we are also exploring opportunities to publish a number of publications digitally.
Clearly, there needs to be some focus towards the structure of the publishing platform and the relative relationships between the various publishing strands.
To which end, it seems to be a good time to give you a New Year update regarding The Quite Delightful Project‘s flagship publication, the magazine.
The first issue is out there and we could not be more pleased with the response that it has received; and Katherine, Simone and myself are all now back in the studio and working on layouts for Issue Two.
To maintain our distance from other ‘adult’ or ‘top-shelf’ publications, we have decided that each future issue of the magazine will be published to address a specific theme and will be named accordingly. This is of course quite a novel approach.
Issue Two will be published in July 2015 and will be our Quite Lovely issue.
Work is also underway for Issue Three, an issue biased towards self-portrait image-making (a subject that I have a particular affection for), and this will be published as Quite Personal.
Standalone monographs will continue to be published as often as we are able to identify appropriate bodies of work that are of the quality of image-making that we wish to associate ourselves with, and these will all be published as part of The Quite Delightful Project family of publications.
Hopefully this brief note will help to make sense of what we’re up to, and our plans for the next few months.
If you have ideas for future issues of the magazine do feel free to email us with your suggestions; and if you would like to submit work for inclusion keep an eye on the website as we shall soon be adding a page to detail our submissions policy (and details of image resolution etc).
